Remember back when you were a kid and your father used to tell you to "Turn the lights off when you leave the room!"?
Well, I’m telling my children the same thing and having about as much success as my Dad did, but that’s another story…
Better than turning off lights to save energy is to use fans more efficiently or just incorporate high efficiency fans into your system.
As an incentive , you can think of how proud your Dad would be of you because saving one brake horsepower of fan energy is the same as turning off seven and a half 100 Watt light bulbs or nineteen four foot 40 Watt fluorescent bulbs in your factory.
Recently we’ve changed some dust control systems to high efficiency fans and collectors saving 100’s of horsepower which saved thousands of dollars per month in the electric bill and probably saved enough energy to light the whole Kingdome!
Saving energy is all of our jobs and besides it’s what your Dad would want you to do.
